If nature has awarded a man with curly hair, which he does not like at all, then there is a way out of this situation. There are various ways to straighten hair for men. We will give useful recommendations on how best to do this.

Straightening process

Very often, representatives of the stronger sex use female caring preparations to straighten strands. This is not worth doing, because the composition of hair is different for men and women. According to research conducted, men's hair is renewed once every 36 months. Sebum is secreted in men much faster than in women. The reason here is a thicker skin, so the hair gets dirty pretty quickly.

Due to the fact that the level of testosterone is quite high, the representatives of the stronger sex are distinguished by strong hairiness. Testosterone also affects male alopecia. It should be remembered that it is preferable for them to choose cosmetics that are appropriate for their gender, because they have a more acceptable smell and take into account the physiology of the male body.

Methods and subtleties

Getting rid of curly strands is an urgent problem for many of the stronger sex. There are many methods to help you deal with this problem. You just need to carefully analyze all the subtleties and choose an acceptable method.

Salon method

Many men imagine the process of straightening their hair is quite difficult. This is not true. In special salons, you can choose the best option. The choice should be based on the condition of the hairline and the result that is planned to be obtained. Of the salon procedures, the following are used:

  • the use of appliances heated to high temperatures;
  • keratin straightening;
  • the use of chemicals;
  • molecular straightening.

Most of the methods provide for some care for the hair. The subtleties of the care process must be agreed with the master.

Blowing

The method is the ability to make straight hair using a hair dryer. The process consists of the following stages.

  • After washing your hair with shampoo, dry it a little with a towel and comb the strands.
  • The hair dryer is set to the highest speed and highest temperature setting. Shake the device from time to time to prevent overdrying of the hairline and skin burns. The movement will allow warm air to be distributed throughout the head, and not concentrated in one place.
  • When drying hair, you must use a comb. It helps to pull the curls to blow them down with a stream of hot air.

When drying the strands, the best option is to use a round comb. This will direct the air flow directly onto the strands that have been curled onto the comb.

At first, drying hair is difficult to do, but over time, any representative of the stronger sex can master this procedure.

Iron

This is a special device used to straighten hair. His work is the interaction of a pair of ceramic plates, smoothing curls. This equipment differs from each other in terms of heating level and magnitude. To straighten hair, an iron with a plate width of up to 5 cm is suitable. The highest heating temperature should be 180 degrees. The principle of operation of the iron is as follows.

  • It should take at least 5 minutes from switching on the equipment to starting straightening for the device to warm up.
  • The hair is divided into separate strands, the width of which should not exceed 2 cm.
  • Now the strand is clamped with the plates at the roots, the device is guided towards the ends of the hair.
  • Straightening each strand should not exceed 3 minutes, otherwise the hair can be very dry. The effect of temperature should be the same along the entire length of the strands.

To prolong the effect of straightened strands, you can use a hairdryer. It will help cool hair after heating while turning on the cold air flow.

Keratin

If you do not mind a significant amount to achieve your goal, then keratin is well suited as a straightener for men's hair. The straightening process takes place in the salon. The effect lasts up to a year. The procedure is based on the use of a special agent that penetrates the hair and breaks the protein composition. The result is that the hair becomes heavier and straightens due to the changed composition. The product consists of a complex of formaldehyde and liquid protein.

One of the types of keratin straightening is Brazilian. The manufacturers indicate that this product is without side effects, but it is prohibited to use it in some countries of Europe and Canada. This is largely due to the fact that it contains chemicals. Using a Brazilian remedy to straighten wavy and unruly strands is the most acceptable solution if there are no restrictions on the use.

There are products with an action similar to the Brazilian, based entirely on chemicals, they affect the hair, like a permanent does. The use of such straighteners can have a negative effect on the hairline, but they have a high level of effectiveness. It is impossible to straighten the strands forever with this method, because the product is gradually washed off.

If necessary, the procedure for applying the straightener can be repeated. The main thing is to remember that between keratin treatments several weeks or even months must pass in order for a new hairline to grow back for straightening. To return to the previous state of the hair, it is necessary to trim the ends and wait for the regrowth of the strands.

How the keratin straightening procedure works, see below.

A haircut

This is one of the ways to make wavy hair smooth, because there are few curls on short hair. Therefore, to make the strands smooth, you just need to shorten your hair a few centimeters.
